Indiana wants me, Lord I can’t go back there…. Aren’t those lyrics of some song I’m bringing up from long ago?  Or it could be a song that I just thought those were the lyrics and I totally misunderstood the artist.
Yes, we zipped right through Kentucky and  Indiana, lots of corn fields, bourbon distilleries  and interstate that felt just like I-75, just fewer trucks. In Louisville, crossed over the Ohio River into Indiana trying to keep up with Gene and Mary. Their motorhome is the one in the picture in front of us.

There didn’t seem to be many campgrounds in north eastern Indiana so we just kept going and found a wonderful campground on a lake right on the southern border of Michigan., called Waffle Farm Campground. Coldwater is a very quaint little town, with many old Victorian homes reminding me of Dawson and Hansell Street in Thomasville.  However, we did NOT find cooler weather. They are having a heat wave, it is upper nineties here. The lady working the camp store said it was upper 70’s just last week. Ugh…. But there are no gnats!! So we have been sitting outside with our adult beverages enjoying scenery, with the lake in the front and a soybean field in the back., no kidding, soybeans.  We grilled out hotdogs and had a delicious picnic. Why does food on a picnic taste better than when eaten at home? Could it be the amount of Jim Beam and Blue Moon partaken of!

So now that we have arrived in Michigan the debate is should we go up the east coast and back down the west or vice versa?

Happy Camping!
Carla
